I have been absorbed with end of life care for my in-laws and have not been able to make art. I have no energy for friends or clay. I have been attending to real life breathing sculptures. Horseback riding and horse care has occupied my re-charge time. I am very comfortable with my horses and the non verbal communications are comforting to my soul.

As I build my next clay head I'm studying Philippe Farauts' video on "The Art of Sculpting" given to me through a friend. He is really fun and mesmerizing to watch as he builds and explains the modeling process.

I was looking through his web site and he has a page about forensic reconstruction; did you know there are two types of reconstruction, the anatomical method and the tissue depth method. This is used as one way to identify an unidentified
body.

So it has been a while and looking back I do apologize for writing like a 10 yr. old. I think it's becuz I can't type fast enough to keep up with my thoughts and my brain slowsss downnn

I have a part time a.m. job helping my community to feed people in need and early bird is the word. I've just acclimated to this altitude and my lungs are adjusting nicely. Art is in everything I do so my meals are colorful and symmetrical whenever possible and I try to maintain a good attitude throughout the process to feed the spirits as well as the tummy's.

This is creativity at another level and my guides have me learning much about determination and surrender which are sometimes opposing forces, not tooo bad though.
I'm excited for spring and basically excited. Sit-ups come in handy lately and dancing. Earning a living is tricky and sometimes evasive but drowning in abundance so worth the feelings to make it so.

I've been working out my lesson plan for a course I'll be offering (so far through the Mont. Rec. Dept.) this Jan. If I don't get any takers I'll put it in the spring catalog. It's a way that I balance my life and merge my abilities and interests. I'm also looking for a job to pay for my dreams while they are young. It's all coming together nicely and my intentions are true. I have to get in flow and away we go. Meanwhile in the sculpture part of my brain is a steady input of ideas for the next work I'll undertake. This is sometimes a slow process especially if I have some pressing project ahead of it like I do now. Stay true my strength stay true.

I have apparently compromised my immune system while getting my last sculpture completed. RnR to date; sold the piece, Yet, another idea phase begins and will be the armature for it next

I'm posting my latest granite flower sculpture for you. It has a 12" bronze insert and a good amount of weight to it; from conception to finish about a years' worth of attention and varying degrees of energies. I'm exhausted and content and will take a couple of weeks to decompress. I'm referring to the center of it as the fourth dimension bcuz that's where you can go if you are willing and able. Because my work was co-created with my art spirit helpers, there is alot of information they pass through me. This aspect of my art is alot of fun for me to learn and grow with.

...this is so very true; parts of the stone are soft and other parts super hard. This helps to remind me of the living quality that initially formed it ages ago.

It sometimes takes me 3 hours before I can get in flow with my work. As my deadline approaches It seems to take less time. Today was a good work day; I felt a part of some larger creative force field and comforted by being present. Today the stone yielded to my every move and co-operated like a true co-creation! I love these days and now know better than to take them for granted.

....deadline pressure, can I make it, yes? ...ok really i can do it I will do it I must do it.. My mind is saying compound curves are fun now that I've spent hours perfecting them (thank god for more stone).
On to the next layer of petals; not so many curves, veins baby veins. -Have new diamonds to finish and will be getting to it soon. May the highest creativity find me today and guide my hands cuz I need assistants! hahaha- where oh where have they gone?

once again I find myself in a 6th chakra cleansing mode...uhgg, maybe a touch of the flu, to boot... must clear out the toxins and balance...this will be my work for the next week or so

Some people may wonder where would I put this sculpture; let me be your guide. One idea would be that if you have or would like to start a walking path in a garden or just a pathway; instead of carefully placing words to express emotions at certain intersections; create living words through granite sculptures.

My "center pattern" is at the foundry now and will be poured in bronze soon after it is prepared. I am very excited and it feels like I'm waiting to see my new baby.

I have been working steadily on the surface of my stone design and creating petals that surround the center. I love this part because it is so demanding and entertaining, simultaneously. I have made a breakthrough and my eyes are full of gratitude for all the talented sculptors that came before me to lite the way.

I feel the presence of my art guides throughout this whole process; I love them so much and they are among my most dear friends.

It seems as if I can't quite move my hands fast enough to keep up with the visual information that is currently streaming through my consciousness. I am following my intuition like my teacher has taught and trusting it with all my heart.

The flowers are giving me so much to work with. Each a universe for ideas, and so happy that they're noticed and apreciated!

I'm getting ready to bring four sculptures to "The Tower Botanical Society Garden" in Mass. at the end of Sept. They will be on display for the month of Oct. along with 15 other artists. So nice ... to have a home for my work. I feel that the soon to be owner of my work will be of a discerning nature and so I try harder to make my vision clearer.

Here is the model for the center of my new stone sculpture which will be done in bronze later on.
I was inspired by fiddleheads; the brown center pieces are acorn tops that I found on my walk.

Wow what a long process this center design has been! Finally completed and awaiting a photo to document it ; I am at peace. Can anyone relate to the utter restlessness one experiences whilst in the throes of creative works?

I stopped making these birdbaths because my cat ate this sweet wild bird that I had encouraged to come, drink and bath.

Part of why I do what I do with sculpture is because of my intuition. The visualizations I have seem to be downloaded from above. I access these visions through my imagination. Without the strength of my intuition, creative ideas are not as vivid.

I am working on a clay design for my next bronze insert. It is part of a large granite flower layout that is the sister to the last sculpture I finished "Dawn". I see these pieces of art located on either side of an entry way but they usually pick their own location. I decided to work out the center detail before I begin my stone work because stone work uses up all of my energy. This way I can take time to visualize the out come in more detail without fatigue as an obstacle.

I am going to attempt to blog here. I'm a slow typist so it's a little daunting to express myself in this way. I usually speak about my process with alot more ease. I thought you might be interested to know that I use sacred geometry to design many of my sculptures. I find it to be the best help for design challenges. It has helped me to correctly draw a hexagon for my flowers to lay in and to find the golden mean to keep things progressing towards visual clarity.
